Do your kindergarten students need to practice their skills with patterns? With these colorful bear repeating pattern task cards and worksheets your students will learn how to recognize, copy, continue, and create an abab, aab, abb, and abc sequencing pattern making a great hands-on independent math center or small group-guided activity.

To Prep

• Task Cards: Print and laminate the cards then cut them into strips or leave them as a whole page with 3 patterns to complete. Print, laminate, and cut apart the pictures to complete the patterns.
• Worksheets: Print your focus. Students then color the named pattern or on the design your own pattern sheet, color a pattern then name the pattern.

To Set Up

Depending on your students ' readiness, you can focus on one pattern type (e.g. abab) or a mixture. Put out the pattern cards and pictures. Students look at the pattern and determine the picture(s) they will need to complete, find the picture(s), and place it in the blank square(s).

In this pack, you will find patterns for your students to copy, patterns to extend, patterns with missing elements, and cards for students to make their own patterns.

• 12 fill in the missing bear pattern piece with mixed patterns and option cards – the pattern piece may be missing anywhere in the pattern

• 21 make your own pattern cards (with and without assistance) in both color and black and white.
• Picture pieces to complete the patterns

Note: the color a pattern worksheets also come with the UK Spelling of the word 'colour'
