Description
Want a math unit that provides lessons, interactive activities, and even some self-graded homework?
Look no further. This low-prep product is created mainly on Google Slides and some on Google Forms too. As it is a digital product, it can easily be added to digital platforms such as Google Classroom, Seesaw, etc. All activities can be completed by simple actions such as clicking, typing, drag & drop, and or resizing something. An answer key is also provided for each question so you either take up the questions with the students or simply post the answers for the students to see. Yup, it's that simple!
Honestly, I had some trouble deciding whether to create these products on Google Forms or Google Slides. Hence, I created some of the lessons in both formats! So, fellow teachers, feel free to use either option or a combination of both. Divide up the activities as you see fit and choose the method that best suits the needs of your students as you know them best. It's totally up to you!
Google Slides: More interactive for the students
- pro: All activities completed by typing, drag & drop, and resizing something
- con: You'll have to take up the homework question as nothing is marked
Google Forms: Self-graded questions
- pro: The homework assignment is automatically graded for the students. Not only is this a major time saver for you, but students even have an opportunity to view their scores and receive constructive feedback on their errors. You can also access Google Forms' capabilities of breaking down the questions and you can see which concepts were challenging for the students.
- con: Google forms are just not as fun and interactive for students.

- Lessons and class examples to cover the following:
- Review repeating patterns and introduce possibly new terminology
- Identify the pattern core, predict and extend patterns, and write the pattern rule
- Student activities on Google Slides:
- 7 interactive slides for students to practice new concepts
- 4 slides for students to create their own patterns
- Answer key provided
- Same practice questions on Google Forms
- No additional answer key provided as the homework is self-graded
- Lessons and class examples to cover the following:
- Lesson 2: shape growing patterns
- Lessons and class examples to cover the following:
- Introduce same-step growing patterns through shapes with smaller numbers
- Familiarize students with how patterns can be transferred to a t-chart
- Continue to predict future terms
- Continue to state the pattern rule
- Student activities on Google Slides:
- 6 interactive slides for students to practice new concepts
