Description

In this consumer math activity, students find percentages of gross weekly, biweekly, semimonthly and monthly incomes to find total deduction amounts and net incomes in this personal financial literacy activity.

Some questions ask students to find annual income based on the gross and net amounts shown in a person’s paycheck. Students will gain an understanding of gross income, paycheck deductions and how to calculate net income from this personal finance activity.

What's included: 10 task cards (2 per page) with 36 total questions, answer sheet and answer key. The activity comes as both PDF printable and digital in Google Forms.

This resource is exactly as it looks, but was very difficult for my kids, even with calculators. I really liked how it worked on google drive, it was TRULY a no-prep and my sub was able to do it easily.

My high schoolers, some who work but have never seen their pay stubs because of electronic payments, really learned a lot about knowing where some the money they earn goes every payday. It was eye opening!

This was the perfect resource to reinforce gross vs. net income along with practicing basic life and math skills. The students were super engaged and most of them had not realized how much is taken out before this lesson.
