What others say

"I've always had a hard time getting my 3-5th graders to peer edit successfully. They typically just assume the person has included everything and is correct. This is a whole new way to interact with the piece of writing to truly edit. What a great idea and it really works!"

Description

The writing process can be lengthy, but it is extremely valuable to have students peer edit their classmate's drafts. This digital download includes a variety of checklists that have students use primary colors (colored pencils, crayons, markers, etc.) to edit a peer's writing. The sheet forces students to SLOW DOWN--and truly edit another student's work. This editing sheet is great for all students--but especially helpful for ELL or struggling learners.

What is included?

  • 2 Upper Elementary peer editing checklists
    • Half sheet (color and black and white)
    • Full sheet (color and black and white)

  • 2 Primary peer editing checklists
    • Full sheet (color and black and white)
    • Full sheet with examples

  • 1 Basic peer editing checklist
    • half sheet
    • Great for struggling writers
