Description

This engaging and structured resource (10 sections of scaffolded and varied practice) can be used to teach/review calculating and applying percent error using the formula estimated % - actual % which my 7th graders found intuitive. The scaffolds are removed in the later sections to promote student independence.

I taught this skill over two days with the following structure:

  • Do Now (section 1 -2)
  • Guided Notes (section 3 - 5)
  • Partner / Independent Practice (sections 6 - 10)

However, there is flexible use! (differentiated stations, homework, small-group reteaches, sub-plans, etc.) If you prefer this resource to be more self-guided, consider pre-filling in examples before administering to students. This resource is great for test prep as well! An answer key is provided.

This resource is condensed version of a full and editable lesson (vocab intro + inquiry instruction + guided notes + key points + discussion prompts + exit ticket + more practice + homework) that can be purchased here.
