Students will reflect on their first marking period grade, and set a goal to achieve a certain target percentage for the following marking period. This can be edited and used for a test/quiz grade or changed for different marking periods. Students will then calculate the percent increase necessary to meet their target percentage and identify two strategies that they will apply in order to assure that they accomplish their goal. This serves as a self reflection and practice with calculating percent change/percent increase using a real world application. I used this as a homework assignment following our percent increase lesson, however, this can be used as a formative assessment or classwork activity as well.
