One of my favorite activities to use in my class are Mathematical Tasks. I use these Mathematical Tasks for partnering activities, group work, independent practice, assessment prep, or in my centers. Included in this set are 10 Tasks, partner and group recording sheets, black and white copies, and an answer key. I created this Mathematical Task for my 6th grade class, but it could also be used in a 7th or 8th grade class too.

This set of Mathematical Tasks asks students to complete the following types of tasks:

• Shading models to represent percent
• Changing decimals to percentages
• Expressing percent as decimals
• Changing fractions to percentages
• Finding percent of a number
• Finding percent when given the whole and part
• Finding the sale price of an item
• Discussion questions
