Description

This is an internet based activity. It is paperless and self-grading. Great for 1:1 classrooms. Can also be used in a center or with an interactive whiteboard. Students get instant feedback after each question. Boom Cards play on any digital device with an internet connection. Hosted by Boom Learning. Chromebook compatible. Can be used for virtual learning.

Included:

  • One deck with 30 Cards: (Ten word problems. Each word problem has three parts)


Each word problem has three parts:

  • Identify part, whole, or percent (multiple choice)
  • Set up the proportion (drag and drop)
  • Determine the correct answer (multiple choice)


In level 1 all questions can be solved using the equivalent ratios method.

****The level 2 deck is a little harder because students will need to simplify ratios before they can use the equivalent ratios method. Check it out here.

✅To use this digital resource, you will need:

  • a computer, laptop, tablet, iPad or Chromebook
  • an internet connection
  • an internet browser or the free BOOM app (Android, iPad, and Kindle Fire.)
  • a Teacher BOOM account (needed to assign "Fast Pins")

TPT and Boom Learning. You will download a PDF with a link to activate the Boom Cards.

To use Boom Cards, you must be connected to the Internet. Boom Cards play on modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge). Apps are available for modern Android, iPads, iPhones, and Kindle Fires. For security and privacy, adults must have an account to use and assign Boom Cards. You will be able to assign the Boom Cards you are buying with "Fast Pins," (a form of play that gives instant feedback to students for self-grading Boom Cards). For assignment options that report student progress back to you, you will need to purchase a subscription. If you are new to Boom, you will be offered a free trial. My students and I love using Boom Cards. I love that they engage the students in practice and my students love the ease of using them. The immediate feedback is great and the fact that they allow students to get as much practice as necessary without others knowing is great!
