Description

This two part Google Slides presentation lesson teaches students about the basic fundaments of percussion instruments, how they function, and how they produce sound. Students will become familiar with a variety of instruments from the percussion family as they discover similarities and differences between them. The lessons are divided by unpitched and pitched percussion instruments. Emphases are placed on beaters, membranophones, idiophones, and drum sets. Use these presentations independently or in a series that focuses on instrument science and familiarity. Student friendly information, images, and videos are included to make the lesson fun and engaging for all learners. Bellwork, Checkpoint, and Closure activities are incorporated into the presentations. I strongly encourage educators to implement their own teaching styles by facilitating discussions, asking questions, making accommodations, and utilizing active participation.
