Performance Tasks are a great way to assess your students' problem solving and real-life application skills. The tasks require the students to demonstrate a variety of skills in order to complete. The students must implement knowledge of how the Common Core State Standards connect to each other while solving a performance task.

*These tasks are also ideal for sub planning because they encompass many subjects and are self explanatory. Students can work through them independently at their own pace.

This special “Camping” Performance Task was designed to meet a variety of Common Core State Standards geared towards grades 3-5, mainly in Math, Writing, Science, and Social Studies. Students will go through a camping experience where they get to plan what to pack, figure out distance and time, set up a tent and fire pit, go fishing, take a hike, make s'mores, and research constellations and real-life campsites. Your students will be completely engaged throughout this Performance Task!
