Description
This is a set of 24 interactive measuring task cards for perimeter.
I created these to use at the beginning of our lesson on perimeter. It gave the students a more real approach to finding the perimeter of an object. Also, it kept the kids moving around and interacting with measuring tools (we used a ruler/measuring tape to measure these objects).
This also gave me a chance to informally assess where my students were struggling the most. Some I found were having problems when it came to the addition part. Others I found had problems when it came to adding all the pieces together.
These are a great resource to use as a whole class or in partners. The discussions that came of this activity were in depth and students were reasoning with each other.
Hope this helps your students like it helped mine!
