This PreK-3rd Grade Phonics Course was designed based on current brain research, evidence-based pedagogy, and has shown to provide huge gains in reading fluency and spelling skills. It mixes phonological awareness, phonics, and syllable rules to improve reading and spelling confidence.

🎯 Scope & Sequence:

This phonics curriculum has been separated into four specific lesson sets. Each individual lesson will take one to three days. Lessons build upon the skills learned previously and have strong scaffolding components embedded.

🥇 Lesson Set 1: Focuses on basic sounds and digraphs. Near the end of Lesson Set 1, learners will be introduced to recognizing syllables, and an introduction to open and closed syllable types.

🥈 Lesson Sets 2: Builds upon knowledge in Lesson Set 1 and introduces blends and the flosz sounds. A deeper focus will be placed on open and closed syllable word mapping.

🥉 Lesson Set 3: Learners will explore sound spellings for consonant-le, r-controlled, and syllables for long vowel sounds (magic-e, vowel team, and diphthongs).

🏅 Lesson Set 4: This set continues to build on the previous learning, while introducing common diphthongs, schwa, and affixes.
