This is a set of pages for an interactive phonics notebook. It focuses on short vowel CVC words.

-CVC word flaps (20 total)- identify the CVC words, write and illustrate a sentence using CVC words

-accordion flaps (10 per vowel, 50 total)- build the CVC words

-CVC pocket sorts (34 total)- fill in the missing word ending and put it in the correct pocket

-CVC petal flaps (5 total)- write and draw CVC words

-CVC word family flaps (29 total)- write words that go with the word family ending

-Rhyming word flaps (1 per vowel, 5 total) identify words that rhyme with the CVC words

-CVC puzzle flaps (8 puzzles per vowel, 40 total)- build the picture puzzles and write the CVC word on the flap

-CVC sort flaps (3 total)- sort the pictures by the vowel sound


This could be used whole-group during a phonics lesson, in guided reading, as morning work, or with small groups that need extra support with blending and decoding.

These pages are sized to fit in a standard spiral notebook, but directions are included in the file for use in a composition notebook.

Also include in this file are directions for using each kind of page as well as pictures of the notebook in use.
