What others say

"Great way to get students up and moving for brain breaks and movement. This helps me out with ideas when I need to give the students an action for things like making choices. Love the visuals also because the young ones aren't quite able to read just yet."

Description

These physical activity task cards feature 40 different exercise moves to get students moving and stretching! These movement cards are fantastic for brain breaks, indoor recess, independent or group play. Use of these cards will encourage students as they learn self-control and following directions, as well as large motor skills such as balance and flexibility.

These cards print 4 to a 8.5x11 sheet of paper. There is no border to cut around, simply slice down the middle. Print on cardstock or laminate for durability.

This PDF includes both color and black and white versions of the cards.

My preschoolers love these cards! They are useful to use as a group when we need to work out some energy. Since each card has one task, the children tend to act more controlled than during active free play. We each take turns choosing a card, then complete the task together, and they are also accessible for independent use during free play. I have found these cards to be excellent for encouraging development of the large motor skills appropriate for my preschoolers, as well as a calming activity when including the yoga pose cards.

I wanted to help my children who were struggling a bit with self-regulating. Consc. Disc. only goes so far so I wanted to add a yoga area to our outdoor play area. Your cards were perfect! I laminated and put them on a ring and the children were able to do this activity all by themselves and as they needed. Yay!
