Due to hybrid learning, I wanted to provide lots of differentiated options for the finals for my physics and chemistry classes, and these projects were one of the options. Easy to modify, and my students really enjoyed it! Could definitely work as the sole choice for a final or cumulative project too.

I have been struggling trying to find an assignment that will be interesting and easy for my students to do at home. This assignment fits the bill perfectly for inquiry and to get the students to learn chemistry and physics within their own home perfectly.

I am using this with my high school chemistry and physics classes. I love that I can edit it and that it comes with examples to show my students. Communicate scientific and technical information about why the molecular-level structure is important in the functioning of designed materials. Emphasis is on the attractive and repulsive forces that determine the functioning of the material. Examples could include why electrically conductive materials are often made of metal, flexible but durable materials are made up of long chained molecules, and pharmaceuticals are designed to interact with specific receptors. Assessment is limited to provided molecular structures of specific designed materials.
