Description
I created this Pi Day project for the month of March to extend the regular curriculum and provide an additional challenge for 2nd grade students who need more. Many of the problems are at a 3rd grade level. However, I found 2nd graders LOVE coordinate graphing and the opportunity to do some simple multiplication and division so you will find a bit of these types of problems too.
This project is meant to be challenging. I have done it with 2nd grade students. Although I believe all 2nd graders could do it with scaffolding and support, your higher 2nd graders should be able to work through the problems more independently. If you choose to send it home as a challenge packet, I’ve also included a parent letter at the end to give parents tips on how to help their child.
Be sure to check out my other resources on TPT.
