My students enjoyed your graph, but the data is incorrect. The one they have to move the bar graph starts off with 10 where it should be 5. When the students counted by 5s, they get a different answer than adding the numbers in the right hand corner. I would like it fixed and resent to me, please.

Hi Sherry, Thank you for your feedback on my resource! It sounds like you’re concerned about the information on the “Pet Food Bowls” slide. I understand how important it is to have materials that meet your needs, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. Regarding the graphing scale, I designed it intentionally to have students focus on reading the scale values rather than counting spaces. This approach helps them develop critical graph interpretation skills, which are essential for real-world applications where scales don’t always start at 0. The numbers in the data chart match the graphing scale, and all values are greater than 10, the first labeled value on the scale. I’m always open to hearing suggestions and supporting you in the classroom. Thank you again for your honest input!

Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
