Purpose of Using Picture Prompts

The "Project, Write and Discuss" format allows beginning and intermediate readers and writers to draw conclusions, make inferences, and express their thoughts, feeling, and ideas using pictures as well as words.

How to Use:

  • Simply show one of the prompts on the whiteboard.
  • Students will respond by discussing or writing.
  • Choose from differentiated graphic organizers or have students write in notebooks.
  • Teach students how to build Speaking and Listening Skills.
  • Express and Respond to pictures in writing.
  • End of the Day Chats
  • Start the Day with these as a writing activity.
  • Perfect for students who arrive early.
