So often my students say, "I don't know what to write about" when given an open-ended prompt or freedom to creatively write. These picture writing prompts not only give a gentle push to students regarding what to write, but gets students actually EXCITED to write!
This resource comes with 40 online picture writing prompts on Google Drive.
This digital resource uses Google Slides™ and can be used on Google Classroom and Google Drive.
Some ideas for use:
- Assign a slide a week on Google Classroom
- Use as morning work

- Use as a writing center during your literacy stations
- Use in guided small group times as scaffolded writing lesson
How does it work?
Each Google Drive slide has a fun/interesting/silly/adventurous real-life photograph. It includes a place for the date, and says "What is happening here?". Students will infer what is happening to create their own story or explanation.
