The class continues with a Google Slides lesson. Containing 14 slides, the teacher will guide the students to discover that numbers 10 and over can be represented with a 1-block, which contains ten "glued" 1-blocks.

Students will complete a guided practice worksheet as a group. In this activity, students will cut digits and paste them into the correct place value holders based on clues. The five problems include 2-digit numbers.

You will have three choices for independent work and can differentiate among your students. All options contain a mystery riddle for students to decode on the back page. Grade level (1st) students will explore place value concepts to the tens place by building 2-digit numbers from clues. Higher level (2nd) students will build 3-digit numbers. Lower level (K) students will complete an addition/subtraction worksheet to 10. Each activity contains five problems and the same mystery word at the end!

To conclude the class, students will complete a five-problem vocabulary assessment. Looking at the position of a digit within a number, students will decide how much that digit is worth.
