Description

This is an extremely rigorous lesson that includes

- Warmup: begins with a review of counting by tens with place value blocks to represent each group of ten

- Do now: a quick check or "entry ticket" for students to skip count or find a missing number when counting by tens to 100.

- Mini-Lesson: lesson analyzing 10s place and 1s place of a 2 digit number, and how to decompose a two-digit number into 10s and some 1s.

- Student practice
- Exit ticket

This can be used as a two-day mini-lesson or can be used as a one day lesson with student independent practice. There are so many different ways you can use this resource, based on your students' needs! Great for differentiation or high ability!
