Place Value: Comparing Digits and Place Values Task Cards (Fairy Tale Jokes)

You students will learn "happily ever after" with these versatile task cards! They can be used as a math station, independent work, a formative assessment, or as a small group activity. However you chose to use them, your students will love this fun twist on traditional task cards!

As students answer each question, they will fill in the correct answer letter for that question on the matching problem number in the code. As each question is completed, the answer to the joke is revealed! This makes the cards easy to check at a glance and frees you up to help the students who need it most.

Questions in this set cover NBT.A.1 and are similar to the following:

  • What is the value of the 2 in 825,609?
  • Which number has a 4 which is 10 times the value of the 4 in 194,327?
  • 600 x 10 = ?
  • 5,000 ÷ 50 = ?

This also includes an interactive digital version that can be used with Google slides that is perfect for distance learning. This way, the cards can travel anywhere students can use the internet! Other bonus material includes Kahoot game links and skill practice slides to introduce the skill.
