Understanding place value is a foundation skill for many different concepts. Students need to be able to identify the number being described based on the value of each digit? These two low-prep games can be used to practice and assess place value mastery.

A few cards are out of order to gauge whether students are paying attention and really grasp the concept of place value. Both decks deal with three-digit numbers, with Deck B being a bit more challenging.

Use for differentiation, remediation, or enrichment based on your students' needs. These games can also help identify misconceptions about place value while providing additional practice for strengthening student understanding.

⚡ A “Magic Place Value Chart” is included to help students organize the clues and compare the place values using expanded notation. This also provides a strong visual for students who need additional reinforcement. There is a chart for each deck, aligned with the level of difficulty for that deck.

The two decks of game cards could also be used as a set of task cards for a math center, using the recording sheets provided.
