Description

Turn your math block into playtime with this engaging Place Value card game! Perfect for centers, small groups, or early finishers, this hands-on activity is great for using UNO cards to help students practice building and writing numbers using tens and ones. Easy to prep and fun to play, it’s a great way to reinforce place value understanding while keeping your learners excited and motivated.

What’s Included:

  • Printable place value mats labeled “Tens” and “Ones”
  • Base ten block drawings to shade in and a space to write the numbers in word form
  • Color options with every color combo
  • Black and white printable option as well

Perfect For:

  • Math centers or stations
  • Early finishers
  • RTI or intervention groups
  • Homeschool math practice
  • Sub plans (no prep and super engaging!)
  • Hands-on learners who benefit from visual and tactile activities

How It Works:

  1. Students draw two cards
  2. Place one on the Tens side and one on the Ones side of their mat.
  3. Then they build the number using the base ten block numbers
  4. Write it out - i.e. drawing a 4 and a 7 could become 47 (4 tens and 7 ones). You can switch it up with different challenges—like making the biggest number, smallest number, or even writing expanded form!
  5. Say it aloud to reinforce place value understanding.

Printing Tip:

Print on cardstock for durability and laminate for long-term use in centers or math tubs. Be sure to choose "FIT TO PRINTABLE AREA" when printing
