Description
Students need to gain a conceptual understanding of math before they move onto abstract ideas such as rounding up when the number is 5 or more. In this engaging math game, students will use place value understanding to round whole numbers to the nearest 10 and 100 using a number line model . Playing this game will help students see why numbers round the way they do with a concrete visual, greatly increasing their level of understanding. This game focuses on Common Core standard 3.NBT.1, where students use the game board and game cards, along with an answer key to check their answers as they play in small groups. Game cards can also be used as task cards in a math center along with the included recording sheet.
