Description

32 Place Value Task Cards: Reading, writing, and understanding large numbers.

I created these task cards so students can use higher-level thinking when working with place value. I included questions that go beyond DOK 1 (what is the place… what is the value). Students must analyze the value of digits, answer a variety of question types, and regroup within the place value system. This product will prepare students for the rigor of their end-of-year state tests.

These cards are great for a bell ringer, centers, cooperative learning activity, or whole group guided practice. These are great for gradual release!

Print the answer sheet 2-sided. They will need room to write, so I made the answer boxes bigger than usual.

Recognize that in a multi-digit whole number, a digit in one place represents ten times what it represents in the place to its right. For example, recognize that 700 ÷ 70 = 10 by applying concepts of place value and division.
Read and write multi-digit whole numbers using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form. Compare two multi-digit numbers based on meanings of the digits in each place, using >, =, and < symbols to record the results of comparisons.
