ARound THE TOWN
ARound the Town is a fun accordion craft activity that will engage your students as they practice rounding to the nearest 10, 100, and 1,000. They will also gain practice solving real world problems involving rounding as they build a town! There are 15 buildings and problems to choose from, so towns may be as big or small as you'd like! Assembly is simple and the accordions fold up neatly into a booklet. Instructions and suggestions for use are included, as well as an answer key.
THE HOUSE HUNT
These task card activities will provide fun practice with place value to the thousands! The object is to match each kid on a card to his or her correct address using place value clues. Here’s the catch: the addresses all contain the same digits, which makes it more challenging to figure out!
THE NUMBER NINJAS
This fun math game requires students to use their knowledge of place value to create the largest (or smallest, for a switch) number possible, while "kicking out" an unwanted number. The game can be played with a whole group, small group, or as a partner activity. This game set includes game board options for 4, 5, and 6 digit numbers and paper-pencil options!
2, 3, AND 4 DIGIT ROUNDING PUZZLES
Rounding Puzzle Sorts are a fun, engaging way for students to practice rounding! Students solve problems, color code puzzle pieces that match, and glue them to complete the puzzles. This interactive activity is no prep for teachers and low prep for students! It can be used in math centers, for early finishers, and with small and whole group instruction.
The 8 puzzle sorts include mixed practice in rounding to the nearest 10, 100, and 1000. This resource is ideal to use after students have been introduced to rounding 2, 3, and 4 digit numbers.
