My students absolutely love this task! They will be talking about it at home with their families as well. One student actually planned it out and her parents bought the tickets to do the trip she had researched.

Students will:

• Choose a vacation location
• Look at their school calendar to find an appropriate time to travel
• Research flights to their destination
• plan for transportation, food, and daily activities/excursions

I used this task to teach real life application of multiplication, because they will need to multiply the price of each item by the number of people coming on their trip. I encourage the students to be aware of the expenses so that they can plan a realistic trip.
