Description

An easy to follow guide that eases students through the entire story plotting process. Students learn by example from comparisons using The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, and The Matrix. To deepen understanding, I work through the plotting process myself and create a character, a premise, and everything else right along with students! As they follow along, Annie's ups and downs will help them truly understand difficult concepts.

This resource includes a PDF, a Teachers Pay Teachers interactive overlay, and accompanying Google Slides for easy implementation for your distance learning needs.

Digital activity is pre-made by me. Just download and digitally assign to your students! You also have the option of adding and/or changing the digital activities!

Using this guide, students will learn:

  • What makes a great story
  • How to always know what to write
  • How to come up with an irresistible story premise
  • How to create a good main character
  • How to plot a creative story from beginning to end
  • How to turn an outline into a story
  • And much more!

This is the second in my Improve Writing Series. You can find the first course below:

These resources have been great for teaching my students about different writing styles and allowing them to chose the type they want to learn themselves.

This is such an amazing resource. I used it with my tutoring with a student who loves writing, and she really enjoyed working through the worksheets and developing her story. We are about a quarter of the way through, but I've looked at the rest of the resource and I know it's going to be perfect. I love how it follows the Blake Snider's beat sheet ideas of story development. I am a writer and screenwriter, and although this was designed for the classroom, I think I'm going to use this for my own story development as well. As it's a great tool for collecting and organising thoughts for writing a story. I'm very impressed with this resource and think it is worth every penny.

I cannot believe this was only $10! It is an Amazing SEMESTER of activities, I start each lesson with an engaging writing activity that my kids actually WANT to complete. I found this to be extremely well organized - laid out in a way that build upon knowledge as it progresses. Exactly what I needed to improve my kids writing and story telling ability. Thank YOU!

Wow - what an incredible value. I got to teach a Creative Writing elective this past year and this resource had EVERYTHING I needed. It was laid out in an order that was easy to follow (for myself, students, subs, you name it!), and all the explanations needed were given. I had to prep very little! It also came with a Google Slides companion, so pivoting to distance learning should be a BREEZE this fall if my district goes that route! I have no doubt that students can progress through this curriculum at-home and still write an enjoyable story.

Hey, Hey Natalye! :) Thank you for your ringing endorsement! Your words have me beaming, and I am thrilled that the process was easy for you to follow. No prep is what I aim for, so reading that you had to prep very little has me on cloud 9. Thank you for your support!
