This Plotting Rational Numbers on the Number Line lesson is a full aligned lesson for 6th grade Math Common Core standard 6.NS.C.6c. In this lesson students will learn to plot rational numbers on both horizontal and vertical number lines. In order to plot rational numbers, they will be exposed to how the number line is related to fractions and a number’s place value. Students will see multiple question types and examples. They will be asked to locate both positive and negative fractions and decimals.
