Description

In this task, students will listen to a podcast from NPR (linked into the activity) and will answer 7 critical thinking questions about podcasts, including both a pre-listening and post-listening question. The podcast is entitled "The Haunting Effects of Going Days Without Sleep".

Students will also answer questions connected to rhetorical strategies (Ethos, Logos, Pathos), as well as additional rhetorical devices (alliteration, allusion, etc). Review slideshows for both of these concepts are linked into the directions as well for your students' convenience!

This activity is perfect for the start of a podcast or speech unit, a speaking and listening activity, or a stand alone task in an English or Speech class!
