Description
This POETRY UNIT has an autumn theme, including holidays and special events. Each poem has a teaching point about elements or types of poetry. Also provided are activities, skill lessons, and writing prompts. The poetry spans a broad range of reading levels, making the unit appropriate to all elementary classrooms. Teachers can easily accommodate children reading above or below grade level and provide differentiated instruction. The poems are printable; ready for student anthologies.

- Print the poems you will use, making a copy for each child. Have your students add them to their anthologies.

- Most of the lessons provided can be used with small groups for differentiated instruction.
- Use the appropriate skill lessons with individuals for RTI.
- These activities may also be employed with your whole class.
