This 46 slide powerpoint focuses on 11 different poetry terms and includes explanations and examples for formula poem, limerick, epic, narrative, auto-bio poem, couplet, extended metaphor poem, concrete poem, onomatopoeia poem, personification poem, haiku, cinquain, and free verse. Created by Beverly Brown, it also includes several poems and song lyrics (complete with questions) to analyze. Poets include Maya Angelou, Rudyard Kipling, Nikki Giovani, Robert Frost, Emily Dickenson, William Shakespeare, and Langston Hughes. You will need no other resource for a full week of lessons!
