Engineering Challenge:

Can your group create a free-standing a poetry tower using word cards and straws?

Materials Needed:

Word cards (print onto cardstock)
Scissors and glue
Plastic straws (the thicker, the better)
Tape measure or ruler
Blank frame (for poetry writing)


This packet contains all the information you need to make this a great engineering activity in your classroom! Lab sheets, student and teacher instructions, and challenge signs are all included! Using simple and cheap materials, you can engage your students in the engineering process!

I enjoyed this source! Definitely give students sufficient amount of time to complete. Building was challenging for students... definitely don't skip the tap part.... oops :)
