Description

This poetry unit includes a 43 page power point that goes over what poetry is and then what Personification, Alliteration, Rhyme, and Repetition are. There are examples and activities throughout the power point. When I taught it, I broke each section into a day. Sections are divided by color.

There is a large poem at the end of each section for whole group work, independent work, or partner work. (5 in all) There is an extra alliteration poem.

Each poem has a 2 sided response sheet to review the concept and check comprehension.

There is also a poetry quiz included for the end of the unit that is worth 15 points.

This unit covers the common core standard 2.RL.4
