Description

Is your class studying polygons? Are you looking for a fun way to practice classifying, sorting, and naming polygons? Then look no further than this engaging set of 40 task cards. These printable and digital task cards are the perfect way to engage your students in reviewing polygons. The task cards ask students to answer true or false questions, name the polygon, and sort the polygon that doesn't belong in the group.

Classifying and sorting polygons can be tricky, so the more practice, the better. Use these task cards instead of a worksheet to increase your student's engagement and excitement!

Check out the preview for a look at the different task cards! I also provided a video of what the digital task cards look like!

What's included?

✎ 40 printable task cards (black and white)

✎ 40 printable task cards (multicolor)

✎ A link to a digital version in Google Forms

✎ Recording sheet

✎ Answer key

✎ PowerPoint presentation of individual cards if you want to do some together as a class

✎ A guide on different ways to use task cards in the classroom

Digital Task Cards:

I have put the task cards in Google Forms. Students are asked multiple-choice and check-box questions and short answers. When finished, the students can submit their work and see their score! See the video in the preview for an example of what the task cards look like on Google Forms!

How can I use task cards in the classroom?

I include a list of ways to use task cards in the file! Scoot, spiral review, centers, games, early finishers, exit slip, etc..

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Understand that shapes in different categories (e.g., rhombuses, rectangles, and others) may share attributes (e.g., having four sides), and that the shared attributes can define a larger category (e.g., quadrilaterals). Recognize rhombuses, rectangles, and squares as examples of quadrilaterals, and draw examples of quadrilaterals that do not belong to any of these subcategories.
Classify two-dimensional figures based on the presence or absence of parallel or perpendicular lines, or the presence or absence of angles of a specified size. Recognize right triangles as a category, and identify right triangles.
Understand that attributes belonging to a category of two-dimensional figures also belong to all subcategories of that category. For example, all rectangles have four right angles and squares are rectangles, so all squares have four right angles.
