Description

his MS PowerPoint presentation provides an easy-to-understand and classroom-tested solution technique for multiplying polynomials. I use this presentation in my 10th-12th grade Math 2, Math 3, Algebra 2 and Precalculus classes. The presentation is fully animated to keep the students engaged and focused. The slidepack begins with an overview of basic algebraic expressions, combining like terms and polynomial vocabulary to activate and insure prior student knowledge.

These introductory slides are followed by the detailed steps I use to multiply polynomials - monomials, binomials and trinomials. These steps are used to solve four (8) different polynomial problems within the slidepack (2 involving monomials, 4 involving binomials and 2 involving trinomials). This insures that the students will become familiar with the detailed, step-by-step solution technique for multiplying all types of polynomials.

I always print out a copy of the slidepack for my students to take notes and write on while I am going through the presentation. Eight (8) additional problems (with answers off to the side of the slide so they are initially hidden on the student copies) are also included on the last slide for the students to solve. The native MS PowerPoint ppt file is included to allow the teacher/end user to modify any of the slides if desired.

Other MS PPT products for Math 1, Math 2, Math 3, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry and PreCalculus curriculum topics can be reviewed and purchased under my TpT page titled: "Priceless Math".
