Description

Students add, subtract, multiply, divide polynomials in this math pennant activity that asks students to find polynomial areas and perimeters, and also perform compositions. The final pennants make a colorful student work display.

Included inside:

  • 20 pennants - add and multiply polynomials in the context of calculating area and perimeter
  • 10-pennants - add, subtract, multiply, divide and compose polynomials in function notation
  • optional student answer sheet
  • answer key

Once each pennant is complete, it can be hung on a string in your classroom to show the world that, "Hey, we know polynomials!"

Each group of students can be given a set of pennants, scissors and either glue, tape or a stapler. Students can be in charge of cutting out the pennants. Groups can compete to see which group can complete the most pennants or your entire class can add pennants to one string as they complete each one. You may also choose to have your students color their pennants to add to your classroom décor.
