Word Walls

This is a great resource for the classroom with limited wall or bulletin board space, and yet a word wall is desired.

Includes popcorn boxes and popcorn cards for 220 sight words PLUS 11 color words (the colors red, blue and yellow are repeated in each grouping for convenience. Also included are both spellings of gray/grey.)

It is highly recommended that you copy the popcorn box and popcorn cards that you will be using onto cardstock and laminate for durability.

You may choose to begin each week by introducing a target word (or words) by posting one of the popcorn box cards on or near your Good Morning board. I introduce the words in my classroom by teaching a related movement song. Throughout the week I implement activities and worksheets related to the word. At the end of the week, the W.O.W. (Word of the Week) card is retired and is replaced by a popcorn card near the “Words we know” card.

Letter Cards

This product includes three sets of alphabet cards with a popcorn theme.

• Upper-case only
• Lower-case only
• Mixed upper- and lower case

There are many uses for these letter cards in your classroom. Here are a few suggestions:

1) On a full bulletin board use the cards as headers for a traditional word wall. They are designed to be compatible with my grade level Word Wall sets.

2) Use the cards for various letter games to teach ABC order. Predict what letter will come next. What came before?

3) Distribute one card to each member of the class. Without talking, the students must line up in sequence. To switch things up, have the “Aa” card be the caboose.

4) Make two sets of the cards. Distribute one card (of a pair) to each student. Have them search for the child who has the same letter.

Number Line

This product includes number cards 0-200 with a popcorn theme.

There are many uses for this number line in your classroom. Here are a few suggestions:

1) On a continuous wall space (you may need another adjacent wall), add one card each day as you progress through the school year. Refer to the number line often. Celebrate special days such as every 10th day or the 100th day of school. Have your students predict what attribute(s) the next card will possess. Practice counting by 1s, 2s, 5s, and 10s.

2) Use the cards for various number games. Predict what number will come next. What came before?

3) Distribute one card to each member of the class. Without talking, the students must line up in sequence. To switch things up, have the LOWEST card be the caboose.

4) Make two sets of the cards. Distribute one card (of a pair) to each student. Have them search for the child who has the same number.
