Description
Do your students need motivation to master their basic multiplication facts? This program is perfect for providing students with a FUN incentive to practice that fact fluency with factors 0 through 10!
To get started, print off a class set of popcorn boxes to use as a classroom display or for students to keep in their math journals/notebooks. Then, give students the "Fast Fact" quizzes as often as you like throughout a particular unit, quarter/semester, or throughout the whole school year. Each time a student completes a quiz within one minute (or the time frame of your choice), they earn the corresponding popcorn piece to add to their box!
As students see their popcorn boxes begin to fill up, they can't WAIT to master all of their facts! It will only be a matter of time before you and your students are celebrating their success with a popcorn party!
I have also included an individual set of each Fast Fact quiz. Simply laminate a set and place on a ring for easy practice during centers, stations, or for early finishers!
The full components of Popcorn Math are:
- Directions for teacher use
- Bulletin board header/Poster for classroom display (two versions)
- Popcorn boxes for students (color & black/white versions)
- Popcorn pieces (0 through 10)
- "Fast Facts" quizzes (0 through 10)
- Tracking Sheet to easily track which students have successfully completed which quizzes
- Individual sets of quizzes for additional student practice
Each year I have used this program, my students beg for the next Fast Fact quiz!! Because the entire class is working towards a common reward, you will also see students quizzing, congratulating, and motivating each other throughout the entire process!
Enjoy!!

I loved using this resource in my classroom it was super engaging! The students loved it!
My students are asking to do this activity everyday they are really engaged and enjoy learning their times tables.
My third graders struggle to know their times tables fluently. This activity gives them something to work for.
My students thoroughly enjoyed this activity! I believe they achieved multiplication fluency with the help of this resource. They especially loved the popcorn party at the end!
I love this activity. I wanted to find a multiplication reward plan and instantly thought of doing popcorn because I did not want to do ice cream. I was so happy to find out that someone else had this idea and made it very user friendly and easy quizzes to check their ability.
Loved this!
I am currently using this resource to encourage my students to learn and master their multiplication facts! They love it and each day they cannot wait to see if they earn another popcorn piece! I let the students color their own boxes but looking back I could have laminated them and been able to use them next year too.
Students love this resource! They look forward to testing on their math facts and adding popcorn to their bucket. I'd love to see something for division facts too...maybe add candy to the popcorn? This resource also makes for a cute bulletin board in the classroom. The tests aren't overwhelming for students. They look forward to testing weekly.

Fluently multiply and divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division (e.g., knowing that 8 × 5 = 40, one knows 40 ÷ 5 = 8) or properties of operations. By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.
