Are you looking for a fun way to review mathematical concepts for Kindergarten and First Grade? Popsicle Puzzles Summer Math Learning Fun is a hands-on learning mathematics activity.
The following mathematical strands are covered: Time, Geometry, and Numeration.
2D Shapes and 3D Solids: Students match shapes to words as well as match shape, real life examples, and words.
Numeration: Students match number words, dominoes, ten frames, and rods and units for numbers 10 to 20. Another puzzle activity has students matching words to rods and units (and flat) for numbers between 23 and 100.
Students also match number stories to answers for Making 5 and for Making 10.
Time: Students match the time to the clocks to the hour and for the half hour.
There are 9 sets of puzzles in this resource.
I use these activities during my mathematics centre time and to review and reinforce concepts during my math lessons.
