This chart allows you to edit which positive behaviors you are looking for in a particular child (Ex. Neat handwriting, respectful responses, etc.) then give the child a smile for each class period that the child exhibits a positive behavior. I used this chart for students who were not responding to the regular classroom management system and needed additional support. Each day we came up with a goal for the number of smiles we wanted to earn, then worked towards that goal. Each night, the parents signed off on the chart. Some of my parents even gave their children rewards for earning a certain number each day or week. I placed this chart inside a folder with paper brads so that it would stay private, and the only people looking at it throughout the day were myself and the student.
