Description
As interesting as it is, Algebra can sometimes be frustrating for students, especially when they don’t have a sound grasp of the basics. Teach your students the basics of addition and subtraction of positive and negative integers with this fun resource. To make the solving of the 51 problems light and fun, you have the option to use the coloring activity sheets after problems are solved.
WHAT’S INCLUDED:
✓ 1 Rules Guide
✓ 51 Algebra directed numbers {addition and subtraction} problems
✓ 4 Answer Response Coloring Activity Sheets
✓ Answer key {detailed working out of each problem}
SUGGESTED USE:
Have students work out the 51 problems. You could do this in sections over the week. As a light break from all the computation, there are coloring sheets for problems:
♦ A1 - A15
♦ A16 - A27
♦ A28 - A39
♦ A40 -A51
→ I give out the coloring sheet along with the problem sheet so students can solve the problems and identify the answer on the coloring sheet. This way, if they do not locate their answer on the coloring sheet, they know it’s incorrect and can try again to get the correct answer
WHAT ELSE
Answers to each problem is given in the answer key. Detailed working out is shown. Photographs of completed coloring sheets also included. Show answers on interactive whiteboard as means of discussion and for students to check, alternatively, print out several copies for groups of students.
My students are ‘big’ but they still enjoyed the coloring activities and in the process found learning algebra fun.☺
