Description
Send these positive notes home to communicate good news with students' families and build a positive classroom culture throughout the school year!. This resource includes 12 positive notes, as well as 4 pages of EDITABLE notes, all with a cute sweet buddies theme.
These positive notes for students are perfect for PBIS and restorative classrooms, and are an easy and effective way to increase the amount of positive interactions you have with your students.
PBIS states that we should have a ratio of 4:1 positive to negative interactions with each one of our students. One great way to achieve that goal is writing positive notes! My students love the positive incentive of receiving a note to take home to their parents, sharing about their day at school. This resource is a great addition to your classroom management repertoire. Many of my students-including some of my more challenging students- would work extra hard if I told them I'd send home a positive note to share with their parents. This often worked better than other rewards they could earn.
It's such a simple, yet effective, way to build positive relationships with your students, and to increase communication with parents. I recommend printing a copy of your roster and noting when you give students positive notes home so you can be sure you're recognizing all of your students. :)
