Students learn the importance of Reducing, Reusing, & Recycling. The first activity, “Trash Talk” – 11 multiple choice questions about recycling and just how much trash is produced in the world. The answer key gives additional factual information about each topic. Teach your students the importance of recycling with the “Decomposition Quiz.” The quiz includes 12 items and a scrambled list of decomposition times. Students guess how long it takes these items to decompose in a landfill. Students then create a “Reduce, Reuse, & Recycle PowerPoint Presentation.” Students learn what products can be made from recycled materials. This lesson also teaches how to add Transitions, Animations, and Timings to the presentation. Students also include how they will help Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle in the presentation.
