This worksheet asks students to view onion root tips as seen under a microscope and identify the phases of reproduction that are visible, then to count the number of total cells and the number of cells in each phase of a sample in order to help a farming co-op determine if that variety of onion is healthy at the cellular level. It can be used independently or as part of the Science Curriculum That Matters Lesson Series.
