Description
Practice with Pics © Picture “Reading” Sentences is now available for print for in-person learning, remote distance learning and/or blended learning classes, and of course, Google Classrooms
People of all ages learn better with pictures. The student sees a few pictures that form a sentence. They then say the sentence to you (or a recorder or to himself) and/or write a sentence. Besides reviewing word meanings, placement, verb conjugation, it also allows for the teaching of difficult to teach propositions, pronouns and others (my, in on, his, the, …) This packet is designed for the student who is still developing his language (both oral and written) skills either due to age, second language interference, or developmental delays. Use these sentences with ESL, ELL, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Special Education, or ANY language,
Picture “Reading” Sentences – These sentences can be used as oral assessments both before and after the vocabulary has been taught. They can also be used for teaching and assessing simple writing sentences (both with and without the students’ having the picture glossary at their disposal) Although the “answers” are included for possible responses, there really are many ways in which the students can “read” these picture sequences. A sentence from one picture sequences could be “The boy jumps” or “The boy is jumping” or “My friend John is jumping very high because he is so happy today.” There are a few words that I found difficult to represent with pictures, so I instead used a few symbols. They are explained on the next page.
This packet can be used alone but the pictures have been taken from Perfect Pics For Language Learning The students will have more success if they can use the pictures (already studied or at least labeled) from Perfect Pics ©
