This product includes the following:
Fill in the blank copy of Guided notes and its key. Also included is a Rational Function Notecard to go with the notes....recommend printing this off on colored paper so students can use this while doing these notes. The notes (and notecard template) can be easily printed for students or downloadable for any device.
This lesson is from my Pre-Calculus H Curriculum (in Unit # 2).
This lesson includes the following concepts:
- Defining a rational function and determine if given functions are rational.
- Showing difference between a continuous function and a discontinuous function (using jump/gap and asymptote/hole graphics).
- Listing and defining various characteristics of rational functions which include non-removable/removable points of discontinuity (asymptotes/holes) and intercepts (x- and y-)
- Detailed steps to determine if rational function has a hole and if it does, how to find the hole.
- There are 6 examples ranging in difficulty and rigor...each example is unique in showing various types of graphs and characterics of rational functions. The examples include finding asymptotes (vertical, horizontal, oblique (slant) asymptotes, intercepts, holes (if any), domain & range, and graphing function (by hand) on coordinate plane.
This product will be downloaded as a ZIP file which includes:
- Blank PDF copy which contains 2 pages and template for the Rational Funtion Notecard.
- PDF copy of KEY with all blanks and examples filled in (including all detailed work).
