Help your students EXPAND their vocabulary knowledge by explicitly teaching the meaning of prefixes & suffixes. This is an important reading foundational skill beginning in early elementary.

I use this as a tool to accompany our Take Flight program. It includes 22 prefixes and 17 suffixes taught in the Take Flight program. My students use their vocabulary notebooks in all of their core classes to aid in comprehension and writing skills.

We glue these pages into a composition notebook as we introduce each new affix. I allow students to decorate and use colored pencils, pens, or pencils to give choice and increase ownership of their notebook!
