Preposition Obstacle Course!
Share

Description

Your students will love this fun activity! Use it as a teaching tool or review for prepositions and object of the prepositions.

Have each student write their classmates' name in the subject space (SN). For younger children, they can write each other's first initial or something similar to lessen the writing load. If you are using Shurley English, have your students turn to the Preposition Flow Jingle in their workbooks for ideas for prepositions. If not, write some common prepositions on the board. For the object of the prepositions, they (or you) may fill in the blanks with fun nouns, depending on where the obstacle course will take place. We have used slides, gaga ball pits, benches, tables, stairs, balls, etc.

Take your class outside and allow them to choose someone whose name they wrote as a SN. The students instruct each other according to their sentence.

The goal is to have students use both their minds and bodies in this grammar lesson.
